Capital
of Iceland
Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, is a unique combination
of city life and pure nature. In a dramatic setting of mountains
and sea, it´s a friendly city of 160.000 inhabitants where
man and nature meet in harmony. Reykjavík takes its name
from the steaming hot springs which astonished the first settler
in the year 874 but today provide geothermal central heating
for the whole city, and heat up outdoor swimming pools all year
round.
