Day 1. Arrival in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, from where you take the fly bus to your Reykjavik Hotel. Evening free.
Day 2. We start our tour with a brief introduction and sightseeing around Reykjavik. Then we head for the Blue Lagoon on the lava-covered Reykjanes peninsula. After bathing in the warm geothermal water, we drive along the south coast of Reykjanes to the quaint ocean-side villages of Eyrarbakki and St
okkseyri. There we have the opportunity to experience sea kayaking.
At the end of our first day we arrive at our farm guesthouse, Hestakráin, where everyone can try riding the famous Icelandic horse. We’ll then enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 3. Today we head into the interior, via the valley of Thjórsá river, cross the Dómadalur, to reach Landmannalaugur. Here again it is possible to bathe in natural hot springs. Alternatively, you can enjoy a walk around in this spectacular setting. After a two-hour stop, we drive on the track to Eldgjá canyon and hike for an hour to the waterfall Ofaera.
In the late afternoon we arrive at our lodging, another pleasant farm guesthouse, for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 4. During this day we will visit such places as the Jökulsárlón, the glacial lagoon, with floating icebergs, the National Park at Skaftafell, the ancient farm of Nupsstaður and the black beach.
We will overnight at the same farm guesthouse as the previous night.
Day 5. Today we visit Vík, Reynisfjara, the Folk Museum at Skógar and we’ll have the opportunity to try out the snowmobiles (optional) at Myrdalsjökull glacier. At the end of the day we will visit the awe-inspiring waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss before we head to dinner and our last overnight at Hestakráin (where we also spent our first night).
Day 6. On our way back to Reykjavik we visit well known places, including the waterfall Gullfoss, Geysir hot springs and the national park at Thingvellir. We arrive in Reykjavík in the late afternoon. Evening is free in Reykjavik.
Day 7. Depart by Fly bus to Keflavik airport.
Included: 2 nights in Reykjavik, 4 nights in the countryside, 6 breakfasts, 4 dinners, a tractor ride to Ingolfshofdi, a cruise on the iceberg lagoon and an hour’s horse riding tour, Museum at Skogar.
Not included: Air fares, transit from and to Keflavik, drinks and insurance.
