Now we are already back in Germany since more than a week - and I am still dreaming of the landscape pictures and I am after-reading guide books, history and literature. E.g. Laxness, criminal story about Flatey and old trip reports from 1845 and 1939 (search for Knebel and Rudloff). Paul and I are still highly enthusiastic. Especially the highland trips with your good car were so interesting and challenging .Our trip through Iceland went very well, also due to the accommodations selected by you. I just have sent some photos to Sigga and Bragi at Grimsstadir, who were so kind to us. It was a really good mixture of hotels guest houses and private accommodations.

It was a great tour. Indescribable scenery! We saw so many interesting things and learned a great deal during the five days.

We truly appreciate the time and effort you spent making changes and adjustments due to the eruption. Our sincere thanks.

We will certainly be recommending a trip to Island, with you as guide, to our friends and colleagues.

The very best of luck in the future!

Hello Oli,

We made it back home safely, after all the airline travel delays we had. Steen and I enjoyed meeting you and had wonderful time on our day tour as well as the second day of adventure. You have a wealth of knowledge about Iceland and a generous spirit. On the day tour you showed us many beautiful waterfalls, brought us to the edge of the glaciers and to the coast to search for Puffins. Thank you for finding three puffins for me off season before the main migration. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Hi Oli,

We made it home safe and sound. Thank you!

My turn to make you blush a bit now : visitig Iceland was more than I had dreamed of, you live (in my opinion) in the best place on earth - and I enjoyed every minute of my time there - it has been without a doubt the BEST holiday I have ever had, and I have come home a much happier, relaxed and fullfiled girl than when I left. But the icing on the cake for me -was to have your brilliant company, you made the countryside come alive for me, and I felt very relaxed and comfortable with you - so much so that on the way back home it has been a bit odd not to have you near! Also, letting myself and India join you and your beautiful daughters was a real treat, and rounded off the holiday to perfection.

You are a wonderful man Oli, and I am honoured that I can now call you my friend and I hope this will be the case for a long time to come.

I have attached couple of photo's that I hope you will like ( I have not compressed them, so hope they are not too big) - I am already sorting through them all, and the one of The National Park is my new screen saver.

The washing machine is now going full pelt, I have shopping to do ( it was baked beans on toast for supper tonight) - but my next task is to sort out flights and childcare for India ready for my next trip to Iceland, see you & Iceland soon.

Thanks again Oli for a wonderful holiday,

Katie and India

We three had a great time with you. Thank you so much for everything. The girls were stars at school yesterday with their rocks, Easter eggs and photos. Cassie is going to be sending you an email of the fortunes for you to translate.

My aunt and myself have just returned from a small group, ten day tour with Oli and I'm delighted to say it was terrific. The tour was more than I expected and we gained so much more having a guide than it would have been on our own. We enjoyed his stories and the people we met, the care he took over my older aunt and her needs. Oli is very much an expert on the outdoor life - ours was a bird watching tour and though we are not manic about birds, it was great to have this as a focus while enjoying so much more of that amazing country. As long as your teenagers are good with being away from malls and shopping and so on, and are not super picky eaters, you would have a great explore through the outdoors. I never felt unsafe with Oli and had every confidence in him as a driver and guide.

Liz, Canada

Hi Oli,

On behalf of the group, I just wanted to say a very big thank you for showing us around Iceland. Thanks to you we left with a sense of satisfaction of having seen/done everything we were hoping to have seen and more..(Northern Lights on the second night, Lunar rainbow - definite highlights!!)

Personally, I really appreciated your know-how on the photography lessons as well - I guess that was obvious when I was trying to capture the Northern Lights..!

Please let us know when you are in London next, we can all go for a drink and if there is a Liverpool game on, am sure the guys will keep you entertained.

Kind Regards,
Dharmini Shah

Dear Olie, I've been home only a few days and think, did I really go to Iceland? or was it all a dream? Thanks for all your special surprises, i.e., visiting your friends (especially the pre-school), the farm, the drives off the beaten paths. My sister and her pal may be a part of your group some time in September.

Patty, USA

Oli,

We returned safe and sound, bruised, exhausted and relieved we didn't have another 7am hike! Just wanted to thank you for an awesome tour. Iceland is a very special place--one of the few remaining pristine and untouched environments in the world and hopefully it will remain so. The people are kind and trusting--even denise felt safe!--some even have kind eyes on occassion! If your travels bring you to NY, let us know. The school season is very busy for us, but we could at least provide some type of accomodations--(albeit 40 minutes outside the city).

All the best,
Sandy, US

Oli,

Deborah and I would like to thank you for a very enjoyable and memorable trip that would not have been complete without your expert knowledge and historical background. The tidbits of history and overall information you provided while on tour were invaluable and we are so glad you suggested the longer over night getaway. We very much enjoyed your company and everything that we experienced-thanks again!!!

I also printed out several of the pictures we took of you and the king sheepherder and mailed them along with a small Pentagon memorabilia to your address. And, feel free to refer any potential customers to us if they want to hear what a good time we had :-)

Hi Oli,

Just a quick note to say, once again, how much we all enjoyed our stay in Iceland - especially our guided tour, of course!

The horse riding went very well, bar a minor mishap on the first evening when Erene got some cuts on her hand from falling onto some barbed wire. Fortunately the rest of the stay was not affected too badly. Simmi is a great guy with a great sense of humour - we liked him a lot.

In Reykjavik we rounded off the tour with a whale-watching trip - we saw several, a visit to the Blue Lagoon, and a nice walk on the pebble beach outside Reykjavik whilst waiting for our flight, which was delayed.

Oli-

I know you've gotten tons of e-mail over the years thanking you for your fantastic trips, but I can only add to them.

It's probably hard for you to understand the depth of experience, knowledge, humor, intelligence, warmth and adventure you give to people, and I feel pretty inadequate to find the words to express it all.

Anyway, I'm on my way to getting 'back in the saddle' here to get my riding technique and muscles back in shape, and I'll be in touch to talk about my trip next July.

Mary Jo says hi. Paul

We had in Iceland the best times in our lives, ever. We can't stop watching the videos and the pictures and showed them to the families and friends which were quite impressed by the "emotionnal landscapes"

Nicolas

We would like to thank you so much for the great time we had in Iceland. We fell in love with your beautiful country and nice people.

Our children had such a good time. Most of the places you have chosen were great and especially Husavik, Efrivik and Centrum. Gerdi was less , but still OK.

We enjoyed everything- Glacier walk, dog sledge, Lacki, Landmanalaugar, Hasvik etc.. I am going to write a newsletter about Iceland to my clients. I hope to be able to bring you clients for next summer.

Thanks again and goodluck!

Well that was with out a doubt the best trip to iceland so far it was a true adventure and our hole group were amazed and thrilled! The last day was a real day to remember with all that happened and not just for the river rescue but the whole day from driving on the glacier and walking up it, trying to fix the weapon, scouting ahead for the crossings and mine and Blackys drive south (more of that later). However the last day was an adventure but the rest of the trip was far from borining!!!

And I still enjoyed the FANTASTIC holiday in Iceland, the most expensive holiday I have ever had…and it is not important. I want to think in different currency, in enjoying, in essentials like friendship and nature… I am not a prototype of an average dentist, I don't want to be either… So far my reaction on the "dentists who are well off…"

Nicole, Holland

Dear Oli

I want to thank you in my and on all the group's name for all your efforts. The itinerary, the accommodations and all the details were excellent, In particular I would like to stress the personality and the professionalism your guiding, please pass on our thanks for this contribution to the success of out trip.

I have one comment. (Not complaint) The horse's farm on the last night did not fit our expectations. Our ladies got 2 little double beds in a children's rooms- it wasn't comfortable. I promise to recommend you to our friends who will plan a visit to Iceland. Thanks again!

Thank you Oli for a really fantastic holiday. It was far better than we expected. You worked so hard to get it right. It was really good to me the lovely Johanna. (hope the spelling is OK).

We got back and found that a very special friend had died. We went to the funeral yesterday. That is why I have not replied earlier.

See you in England soon I hope. Celia sends her love.

Oli

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for such a great weekend. I really believe that as a "tour guide" you went above and beyond the call of duty and it really helped to make our weekend much more enjoyable. It is a pity that Angela was ill so we were not able to be at 100%. Whenever you are over this way please feel free to give us a call to hook up for dinner !!!

Oli once more a HUGE thank you from us both for a superb, unforgettable trip. We know absolutely that beside the stunning country called Iceland, it was your attention to detail that made the trip the joy it was ( oh and the fact that they broke the mould when they made you!!!!!) I just hope that we didn't disappoint as fellow travellers and that your memories will be of the trip will be as happy as ours.

Once again thank you!
love and hugs

Hi Carolyn, (sent to somebody asking for references, I got a copy later)

Yes I am happy to say I know Oli!! My friend Angie and I went to Iceland at the beginning of May for four days. We booked with Oli just on what we had read on the internet and from the wonderful e-mails we received from him!

I can say hand on heart I can 100% recommend Oli as the one to go with in Iceland.

We got in contact with him and said we wanted to "do" - glaciers, volcanoes, horse riding and icebergs!!! - not much to cram into 4 days??!!! But that is exactly what we got AND so much more besides.

As Oli is an Icelander and a private company, as such he deosn't have to run to timetables. The joy of this was that he took us "off piste" shall we say on many occasions. Angie and I are both of farming backgrounds and Oli took us to several different farms - all his friends - where we saw sheep, cattle and horticulture and met the people - something you would never get with the other tours. His timing was impeccable so we literally went seamlessly from one tour to the next - again his friendship with the different tour operators was invaluable, a quick phone call and he would know the tour was waiting there for us. Without doubt going with Oli meant that not only did we do everything we wanted, but we also got to really know the country and through talking with Oli a taste of the Icelandic culture and people.

So to actually answer your question on the first day we had a tour around Reykjavik, then did the Golden Circle tour Gullfoss, Thingvellir and the Geysirs. We then stayed over night in Hotel Fludir. Next day was snowmobiling - FANTASTIC and more sightseeing along the coast - waterfalls, lava fields, glaciers. That night was Hotel Skaftafell. The third day was the Glacial lagoon - sailing amongst the icebergs, then a tractor tour out to Cape Ingolfur to see the puffins - fabulous, the weather was gorgeous and we sat eating our lunch on the cliff tops overlooking an azure blue Atlantic Ocean - doesn't get much better than that!. Back to Reykjavik that night. Last day was looking around town, Blue Lagoon and home.

That description of the trip really doesn't do justice as there were SO many extra visits en route and just so much information forthcoming from Oli. The one major advantage of touring with Oli, apart from his wonderful company and amazing knowledge, is that instead of having to do day tours, where you may spend 2 or more hours travelling to the place and then that amount travelling back to Reykjavik, with Oli you visit the site and then move on, so in the same amount of time you get to see so much more - and in a lot more comfort!

As you can probably guess I think Oli is most definitely the one to go with and worth every penny, as for us he gave us something that is very hard to find - the personal touch and the insider knowledge.

So I hope you do get to Iceland and that you do go with Oli, if you do please send him much love from Angie and Kathy!!

Best wishes
Kathy

(Sent to somebody asking for references:)

Hi Elisha

I am pleased that you contacted me.

We had a fantastic trip with Oli and I would certainly recommend him as a guide. When we booked our holiday we were initially going to just do a fly drive with a guide book until we came across Oli's website by accident. I can honestly say that we were extremely pleased that we chose to take up Oli's services. He has lived in Iceland all his life and knows the island intimately. He told us lots of stories of his personal experiences over the years that gave us a thorough insight into how the country works. I have not experienced this on any other holiday and the difference was remarkable - he really brought the island to life for me. Furthermore, Oli has a vehicle specially designed for driving in the demanding Icelandic terrain so we were able to visit places that are not accessible in any of the hire vehicles, and he knows the best places to go to avoid the crowds. He also has lots of contacts, which increases the experiences open to you.

I hope this has been helpful in your decision-making process. You probably would enjoy a fly-drive holiday because you would not be aware of all the extra on offer from a proper guided tour, but if you take a tour with Oli you will be so pleased that you didn't just rely on a guide book.

Have a great holiday - I am quite envious as I would love to go on another tour with Oli.

Kind regards

HI OLI- WE MADE IT HOME BUT NOT EASY.. THE FLIGHT FROM ICELAND WAS LATE AND WE ONLY HAD 30 MINUTES IN BALTIMORE TO GET LUGGAGE AND THEN GO TO THE OTHER END OF THE TERMINAL TO CATCH THE SOUTHWEST FLIGHT.. LUCKY FOR US THERE WAS A STORM AND THEY HELD THE FLIGHT FOR ABOUT 40 MINUETS.

ALL 12 HAD A GREAT TIME AND I ATTRIBUTE THAT MOSTLY TO YOU. YOU WERE SUPER!! A GUIDE CAN EITHER MAKE OF BREAK A TRIP AND YOU SURE MADE IT FOR ALL OF US.

JOHN PANTALONE

Sent to somebody who asked references

Thank you for contacting me. We certainly can recommend Oli. We were also unsure if the cost for a guide was worth it but opted for it due to the fact that we has such a short time in Iceland and weren't sure what the best sights were etc.

I was very clear to Oli about what our interests were (nature, local Icelandic life and photography) and he accommodated the trip to our needs including many photo opportunities, visit to farms (in some cases we were invited in for coffee and even lunch) and many beautiful natural sites. Having said that when on our trip we expressed a desire to do something else (snowmobiling) he went out of his way to include that too. On our own we would never have seen half the things we did with him as he took us to lesser known places etc.

As a guide he is very knowledgeable and thoroughly entertaining. Icelanders seem to love story telling and he has perfected that art. He gave a deeper insight into every place or thing we saw or did.

To be honest I cannot think of anything negative to say. I recall one evening before leaving my husband telling me that if we knew anyone going to Iceland he would insist that they and use a guide, more specifically Oli.

Good luck with your trip and feel free to contact us with any other queries. My tel no is +27 11 837552669.

Iceland is a truly beautiful place and experience.

Regards
Janet Kleyn

Same person
Well we are back home and hard at work again…only 3 days ago yet Iceland feels so far away.

Once again, thank you both for such a special time. We haven't stopped raving about Iceland to our friends and family, I think we are driving them crazy. We also both got some wonderful photos. We are still sorting through them as there were 100's taken but once done we will forward you a few.

Oli you can certainly refer people to us for a reference if required. Let me know if you would like me to write something more formal that you can put on your web page or on advertising material.

Hi Oli, This is just a big "thank you" for giving us such a great trip! We all really enjoyed it and saw so many different aspects of Iceland. It was good to meet Johanna and the Children. You are, indeed, a lucky man. (We say "A good man makes his own luck"!)

I hope that you continue to have a good season. Here it is very wet although we have not got floods like some people.

Kindest regards,
Hugh

Dear Oli,

Thank you for the tour, we all thoroughly enjoyed iceland, and we left with a rare understanding of the country that very few tour guides can do. We felt we had a glimpse into a place and the people that I will never forget thank you.

We would like to return the favour and show you a little of British Columbia, our phone no is 250 748 6443, please contact us if you are ever thinking of coming,

Thank you once again for a very memorable trip.

Dear Oli,

We are home in 'hot' Israel (about 36 degrees). It's hard to imagine that just a few days ago we were sitting in your car bouncing around Iceland.

We just wanted to let you know, once again, how much we enjoyed our trip. You are a good ambassador for your country.

Hey "Uncle" Oli,

How is everything going for you back in Iceland? Things are okay here, but I really miss Iceland and you. I have been very busy, though, getting pictures developed, cleaning, and getting ready to go to New Hampshire.

I talked to my parents about the trip and the were very excited and even talked about seeing Iceland for themselves sometime. I still am very interested in working out a way that Stacy and I (and Ashley, too) could come back next summer and work in Iceland. I even got my parents to agree to it. Well, I can't stop talking about Iceland to my family and friends, and I had the best time of my life there. I will always remember our groups last night in Iceland. The sites, the horseback riding, the wonderful fresh fish dinner, the songs and drinks in the stables with the staff, the puppies, the cards, and hanging out later that night. It was just really relaxing and one of my favorite nights. So, thanks for guiding us, teaching us, and for caring about us. Thanks again, and Ill write you again, soon!

From a UK family travelling with us this summer:

Just to let you know that we returned safe and sound. Today we surveyed the battered garden after the high winds and storms whilst we were away. The good weather must be following us around since it was hot today.

We all enjoyed the tour of your beautiful country and can’t believe how much we saw in such a short time. We have been drooling over the photos which are now safely on the computer. Tony and I certainly plan to come back at some stage and we won’t hesitate to recommend it to the more adventurous of our friends! It was also very special to meet your daughters who are delightful. All the best, The Whites.

A couple from this summer:

Dear Oli,

We are safely back home and want to thank you so much for all you did to give us such a memorable holiday. It was absolutely wonderful, and you worked so hard for us! We loved your country and found it all so interesting - such a completely different landscape from ours with all the craters, pumice and lava landscapes, blue water in the rivers, hot springs, geysers, waterfalls etc. etc. It was so interesting to be with someone who was so well informed and able to answer all our endless questions. We loved the bird life too - red-necked phalaropes and sea-eagles, little auks and Brunnich guillemots - what a treat, not forgetting the puffins and all the others. Mike and Hugh were pleased we managed to fit in the fishing too. We thoroughly enjoyed all the accommodation stops - all nice and relaxed and friendly. The only problem came when we had 24 hours in Reykavik - it was hard to adjust after being out in the wild for a week. Mike wants to add his bit on the bottom, but thank you so much again. We loved all the endless surprises - visits to a horse-farm, dairy, rose and tomato growers, your mother-in-law, driving to the top of craters unexpectedly, visiting the church where you were married, seeing that picture by the shark farm, etc etc. and being fed by the director of the Icelandic Opera House! We do hope that we may be able to see the North and East of Iceland sometime in the not too distant future with you. You have certainly whetted our appetites for more. Let us know if you are coming to England and have time to spare to come and see us.

With many thanks again and love from us both,
Mike and Celia

P.S. Mike is working on the photos and will send you the two discs when he has finished them.

From a girl from New York who came on tour this summer:

I just wanted to tell you once again that I had the most incredible time on your tour. It was truly a life changing experience that I will take with me always. I have some amazing pictures that I would love to send to you as well as the others, that is, once i figure out how to do that! I hope you and your family are well. We must keep in touch! Write back with your home address so that I can send you a CD of some of these pictures.

Thanks again and take care!!

Kara =)

From a couple who were with us in June 2004

Hai Oli, Thank you so much for giving us all such a good time in Iceland. A great country, a great people. Our photos will be ready tomorrow and they will help to bring it all back. It would not have been anything like such a good tour without you and we did appreciate meeting people whom we would not have met without you. Kindest regards to your family and remember that we would be very pleased to see you here whenever you are in England.

Hugh and Sue

From a couple touring summer 2004

Again, a huge thanks to Oli who did a phenomenal job of showing us the wonders of Iceland. This tour was exactly what Steve and I had hoped for, and Oli´s knowledge of the area, the history, the people, and the geology only enhanced our experience. Thanks to Johanna as well, for going shopping with us on Tuesday! Take care everyone, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Eileen & Steve.

From the Mother out of group of four, they did a 5 day tour from the 25th of August 2004

Dear Oli

What can I say after such a holiday, we came to Iceland ignorant of your country and have left with an incredible insight and much knowledge, thanks to a superb guide. You interpreted so well our expectations.I have travelled, not extensively, but to a number of countries and I can honestly say that I have never returned home with such a feeling of fulfilment (and sadness having to leave so soon). Whilst I personally was totally captivated by our visit to Ingolfshofoi, it seems unfair to compare this with all ofthe other amazing sights and experiences during the four days. I am sure these memories will remain amongst my most special in years to come. I sincerely hope that I am fortunate enough to return again to your country and rest assured you will be the first person I will contact. With regard to my younger daughter Louise, is it really possible that you may have contacts within the field of Physcology, and if so is it possible that we could maybe forward my daughters CV. She is extremely consciencous, hardworking and keen to break into this field having now completed her degree (she gained a 2:1). Any help in progressing her career opportunities would be very much appreciated.Writing this it feels that you have given so much, if ever I can be of any assistance to you, then I will do my best to help.Once again my sincere thanks for a truly wonderful time and hopefully we will meet again one day soon.

Kind Regards,
Linda

From a couple with us recently:

Hello Highlander!

Just a quick note to thank you for a wonderful day out when we visited Iceland a couple of weeks ago. We took a day trip to Porsmork and Myrdalsjokull in a super jeep driven by Helgi. He was excellent company, a knowledgeable guide and a fantastic driver! Helgi was able to take us to places no bus or rental car could go and give us a real sight of the unbelievable South Iceland landscape. I will never forget the glaciers, waterfalls, black sands, geothermal pools....... oh and cleaning the jeep by driving down the middle of a river! I cannot recommend you highly enough - if anyone is reading this on your website: BOOK NOW! Please pass on our best regards to Helgi and ask him if he has had anymore picnics in the snow lately!

Cheers,
Elliott & Amanda, UK.

Two families from London visited Iceland between Christmas 2003 and the New Year:

Dear Óli

First of all, a very Happy New Year to you and your family! On behalf of the Scarletts and the Stevensons we wish to thank you for making our stay in your beautiful country so enjoyable. Each of us has tried to pick one special moment but it is difficult when we saw and did so many amazing things - our favourites are seeing and touching the mouth of the glacier; the amazing waterfall at Gullfoss; the skidoos on top of the glacier; the geysirs; the horse (not pony!) riding; swimming in the blue lagoon; walking along the fault line at Pingvellir; the northern lights; the folk museum which gave us such an insight into the way people lived until recent times....even after a few days, so many things. What made it particularly special was your own professionalism, knowledge, enthusiasm and humour. You tailored everything to suit us and nothing was too much trouble for you. We could not have enjoyed our stay more and, if you'll have us, we will definitely contact you as our tour guide when we return to Icland and its magical landscape!! Children and adults found the whole experience stunning, exciting and educational.

Hopefully speak to you again soon.

A million thanks,
David, Sue, Daniel, Hannah, Andy, Jane, Adam and Victoria.

A couple on G/G tour middle of Sept. 2004.

Hello Oli,

I just wanted to thank you for the trip of our lives. Bill and I had such a fabulous time in Iceland. I was truly saddened to return home. Back here in reality I can only dream of the day we get to return to your lovely country! You truly went out of your way to make our trip spectacular. Elizabeth and Murray's wedding was an added treat. I think Bill and I enjoyed it more then they did!It was also a pleasure to meet your family. I really enjoyed playing peek a boo with Unnur! Thanks again for such a fabulous trip!

Best regards to you and your family!!

A family from Belgium middle of July 2004

After an other 4 weeks of holidays for the children, and a quick busy start at work, we send you our impression of our Iceland-safari in july 2004.Our three children are even six weeks later very enthousiastic about this trip. They are telling all their friends how COOL Iceland is!!!!They tell them about the horse riding, the icescooters on the glacier, the floating icebergs, the ' lundies' and your 4x4 jeep. The lundi or puffin became the favorite animal of Benedicte (11y), Cedric (10y) knows now why dad doensn't need a 4x4 in Belgium, and Carmen (12)shows around with the pictures. We, the parents are very gratefull to you for such a safe journey. Everything was wel organised and enjoyable. This was already 5 years a dream-destination ( after 2 world expos ) for us and it became a true dream-holiday. Not the sunny beach and palm-holiday, but a well organised, though relaxed, very impressive experience around this beautifull country.Your enormous experience with difficult 'tracks' in the center of this land, your popularity with nearly all local Icelandic people, and your organisation talent, makes you probably the best guide in Iceland!!!!!!We recommended your organisation already to some friends. We hope you wil enjoy the our video we did send you (,after all the patience you showed while I was filming.) Thanks again , a very gratefull Belgian family26.-30. August 2004Oli, Thought I would send you an e-mail to again say thanks for last week's tour. The success of the tour is the result of the depth of your knowledge of Iceland and your willingness to share it with others.

Best of luck and health,
Takk, Ken DiGiuseppe

20. August 2004, a client on a Between Fire and Ice tour in July.

Dear Oli,

A very big Thank you for a really enjoyable holiday. I could not have asked for a better guide and driver. It was so good to be in the company of 10 other friendly folk, and it all went to make for a great 9 days. Thank you also for choosing such good guesthouses for me to stay in. I have already been asked for your address by a friend of mine.Everything was fine when I returned home - we are even having some hot weather. Many thanks once again, and maybe see you again one day!

15. August 2004.

Hi Óli,

I really really enjoyed touring around Iceland in the mini-mini-bus, with you telling us about the amazing sights, and thankyou for being so kind, helpful and funny. Thankyou also for the new nickname and I'm so grateful for the beautiful necklace and ear-rings you kindly gave me from Petru's stone collection. Hopefully I will be able to ask you to get me a dog soon, but I'm not sure how soon that will be! I hope Unnar Egla enjoyed her first day at nursery. Takk, and bless! ..........Love from Rusty! How old do you have to be to hire a 4X4 in Iceland?! James and I and our friend Robert would like to come in a few years when we have driving licences and have saved up enough to come!!Our neighbours have said we can put an Icelandic horse in their field...(!) I wonder what it would think of two donkeys!!We've had a really good time. Thankyou for taking us to so many places and especially the hot pools in the crevasses. I really enjoyed everything!I am going to make a scrap book with all my photos in and tickets and things from all the places where we went.

Takk, Bless bless!!
@idan

Thank you for a really excellent trip - it exceeded expectations! It was great to see so much of the country, especially as I have wanted to visit Iceland since I was about 5. The variety of landscape, geology, etc is so great; coming back to England seems very strange. We got home safely with no delays, but the journey involved 2 hours of driiving on 3 and 4 lane motorway - a big contrast to Kjölur, and you can guess where we would rather be! We have already been to get some of the films developed on a 1 hour process, and as Aidan says, he and Rusty are making books about everything they have seen. Thank you for arranging things to suit all of our interests. I found the museums and old buildings fascinating - especially Lillia's farm! I might even go whale watching again, though I would prefer a calmer day .... We were all very impressed with the Icelandic horses too - much more comfortable than English ones!I hope you got back to Fludir OK. Thank you very much for taking us to the airport. We hope to return to Iceland again before too long. If you and Johanna and the girls are ever able to visit England, you will be very welcome to stay with us and we will take you to see our scenery and historySo, many thanks again, and best wishes to you and Johanna and the girls.

Hi Óli!

Thank you for making ours a great trip and for giving us a great picture of what Iceland is about. As Anja said you really gave our trip something special with your stories and sagas. This was definately not the last time I'm going to Iceland. Hope the rest of the summer will be great for you and hopefully you'll get better weather than we did.

Best regards from
Bjørn.

"It's true, I did spend an hour on the phone with Bob (representing IcelandST@aol.com, the tour office where Mary Jo bought her ticket) and told him all about the trip and everything we did and how you showed such sensitivity and grace -- I wanted to make sure that he knows you're the best. I think he was really interested and impressed by the huge variety and quality of all the things we did. I also wanted him to know about the "little" extras, . . .the things that separate you from other tour operators. Like when after the tour was over, you secretly called the restaurant and had the waiter bring us all little glasses of Brennevin from "the ghost of Oli." It is touches like that that make a trip so memorable and fill one's heart with good feelings. A famous architect once said, "God is in the details." And this is something that YOU know better than anybody, Oli. [and you have my permission to quote me on your web site about that!

Ó li Thank you, sir! We arrived at 00.30 hrs, and I rose for work at 04.00 hrs, so my eyes are very heavy now. We had just a terrific time - me most especially. I think I will never take my mind completely from your land - at least I hope not... You organized the perfect trip. Everyone was so very pleased. And, we came to appreciate more of what you shared of the history as we toured Reykjavik and it's museums - you know a great deal, my friend.
